Why did I stop receiving e-newsletters?

There are a number of reasons why you may not be receiving e-mails from the Kansas Area Communications Office. Below are a number of suggestions to help resolve the problem.

    Check your "Spam" folder
Often when you don't receive e-mail you are expecting, the place you will find it is in your "Spam" or "Suspected Spam" folder in your e-mail program. Some providers, like Cox, do not deliver those messages to customers. Instead, customers have to go to a special web page and log in to view and take care of those messages.

Be sure your provider knows that you want to receive e-mail from addresses at  "kswestumc.org" and "kansasumc.org" so messages do not get caught in these folders.

Add us to your address book!
To ensure that you receive the e-newsletters to which you subscribe, be sure to add the following e-mail addresses to your "Approved Sender" list or your "Contacts": Ldiehl@kswestumc.org, Scooper@kswestumc.org, Bbradley@kswestumc.org, Bfanestil@kswestumc.org, and noreply@kansaseast.org.

    Mailbox maintenance
Many people are not receiving the Communique because their e-mail mailboxes are full. To avoid this problem, empty your "Deleted Items" folder often. Delete "Sent items" older than a few days and empty them from your "Deleted Items' folder. Clean out your Inbox to eliminate old e-mails and empty your "Deleted Items" folder.

    Spam filtering
If you use an e-mail provider that offers spam-guard protection forcing anyone who sends an e-mail to you to respond by clicking a link and typing in a code, know that we do not monitor the noreply@kansaseast.org account for these messages. You will need to add the addresses in "Add us to your address book!" above to continue receiving the Communique.

    Bad e-mail addresses
Another significant problem in delivering the Communique and other electronic newsletters is rotting e-mail addresses. A significant number of e-mail messages are returned to us because the e-mail addresses are no longer valid. If you have stopped receiving the Communique because you changed your e-mail address, be sure to let us know. Contact Beverly Fanestil to update your e-mail address at Bfanestil@kswestumc.org.

    Maintaining your subscription
Know you're changing e-mail addresses? You can update your own e-mail address for the Communique or any of the conference e-mail newsletters by following the link "Manage your subscriptions" found on the bottom of each newsletter. The link is unique to your e-mail address. If you follow the link, you will be able to update your e-mail address, change your name and manage your subscriptions.
