Acting on faith strengthens disciples. Volunteers In Mission turn their faith into action, helping people in need. Projects include basic building maintenance and repair, construction, teaching Bible school and working at United Methodist missions in Kansas and around the world. Find opportunities to participate in group VIM trips or to sign-up for the Individual Volunteers In Mission program through the General Board of Global Ministries.
Group Domestic Trip Insurance
The Kansas East Conference policy states that local churches will purchase domestic and international trip insurance for local church youth groups, mission teams, etc. Churches arrange for this insurance at least one week before a scheduled trip by contacting Kay Inman at the Kansas East Conference office. International Trip Insurance
The Kansas East Conference has an international trip insurance coverage policy. The coverage includes extensive coverage to meet today's global travel climate. Access a checklist to guide the process of arranging the details. A coverage summary sheet and International Trip Roster/Application forms are available for a trip leader to print, complete, and submit. PLEASE NOTE: Groups traveling to Haiti must complete the required information on page 3 of the application document and submit all paperwork for insurance company approval at least 15 days prior to departure. Teams are limited to 6 or fewer travelers.
Roster/Applications are to be submitted to Kansas East Conference Office, Attn: Kay Inman, PO Box 4187, Topeka, KS 66604-0187, at least 10 days for most trips prior to the departure date and at least 15 days prior to a Haiti trip departure date.
