Who They Are
Wesley House, founded over 20 years ago as an outreach program of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg, serves people in need both spiritually and socially in an ecumenically-conscious environment. Its staff includes a minister, administrative assistant and numerous volunteers. Programs and the availability of emergency assistance are dependent on donations.
What They Do
The House seeks to provide emergency assistance and serve as an advocate for those in need by providing an in-house social worker, free medical clinic for the uninsured, food assistance, household items, free dinners on Thursdays, seasonal assistance, a public telephone, showers and a place of fellowship for friends. Each Sunday morning, they offer Sunday school at 9:00, fellowship at 10:30 and worship at 11:00.
