Youth all over the world raise money to support youth mission projects that impact poverty, illiteracy, delinquency and social justice through the United Methodist Youth Service Fund. The money raised is distributed by youth: 70 percent within an annual conference and 30 percent sent to the national level. Kansas East youth raise money for the YSF at every conference youth event throughout the year.
Combined with local church contributions and youth group projects, Kansas East YSF giving totaled $5,410.48 in 2010. Each year's goal is to exceed the previous year's giving amount. The Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM) is responsible for decisions about fund recipients.
Thank you to local churches that support the YSF program by honoring it each February with special offerings in local churches and providing opportunities for communities to contribute.
You can donate to the Youth Service Fund any time. Send checks payable “KEC Youth Service Fund” to the Kansas East Conference office, P.O. Box 4187, Topeka, KS 66604-0187.
We encourage your church's youth groups to apply for YSF monies if assistance is needed for a youth mission project or trip. Or perhaps a community ministry which supports youth can apply for assistance. Download the YSF guidelines. Download the Youth Service Fund Application .
